Zach Brock is one of the leading jazz violinists of his generation, known for pairing a classical foundation with a fluid, hard-swinging improvisational voice. He released his debut album as a leader, Zach Brock and the Coffee Achievers, in 2003, and went on to record numerous albums under his own name. A member of the jazz-fusion collective Snarky Puppy since 2007, he first recorded with the group on Bring Us the Bright in 2008 and shared in its Grammy Awards for Culcha Vulcha in 2017, Live at the Royal Albert Hall in 2021, and Empire Central in 2023. Born in 1974 in Lexington, Kentucky, he began playing violin at age four and later studied classical violin at Northwestern University while developing as an improviser in the Chicago jazz scene. He has also worked with Stanley Clarke, Dave Liebman, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, and is active as an educator.
