Willerm Delisfort

Willerm Delisfort is a New York pianist and composer whose work moves across jazz, gospel, and R&B. Born in 1983 in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami to Haitian parents, he was shaped early by his family's music and went on to study at Florida A&M University and Northern Illinois University, where he held a Liberace scholarship and was mentored by the Chicago pianist Willie Pickens. He leads the Willerm Delisfort Project, a band he founded as a student, and works steadily on the New York scene at rooms such as Smalls and Zinc Bar. Delisfort also teaches, serving on the faculty of The New School and as a teaching artist with Jazz at Lincoln Center's High School Jazz Academy.
