Wendy Eisenberg

Wendy Eisenberg is a guitarist, banjoist, singer-songwriter, and composer whose restless artistry moves freely among free improvisation, jazz, art-rock, and folk. Raised near Washington, D.C., and trained at the Eastman School of Music and the New England Conservatory, they have spent more than a decade as a fixture of independent and creative music, prized for a virtuosic and unpredictable guitar voice. Their wide-ranging catalog includes the songwriting-forward Auto and the free-jazz expanse of Viewfinder, and they have collaborated closely with John Zorn, recording for his Tzadik label and performing in his ensembles. They have played in groups from Birthing Hips and Editrix to Squanderers and the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet, and teach songwriting at the New School. At The Stone and other rooms they appear in solo settings and in the bands of peers such as Brian Marsella.
