Tony Glausi

Trumpeter and composer Tony Glausi is a versatile, melody-driven voice in jazz, equally at home as a soloist, bandleader, keyboardist, and producer. Raised in Portland, Oregon, by musician parents, he studied jazz performance and composition at the University of Oregon and went on to win both the International Trumpet Guild's Jazz Improvisation Competition and the Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition in 2017. Known for a warm, intimate sound, he has toured more than thirty countries and performed at festivals from Montreux to Java Jazz. Now based in New York, he serves on the faculty of the New School and leads his own band around the city. His writing favors strong melody and a wide stylistic embrace that reaches well beyond straight-ahead jazz.
