Samuel Bolduc

Samuel Bolduc is a Canadian jazz drummer based in New York, known for a crisp cymbal beat and a stylistically versatile approach rooted in the postbop tradition. He first drew notice at fourteen, leading his band Disconnected Blind to a national Emergenza victory, and later studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. There he was hand-picked and mentored by the late Ralph Peterson, whose fiery, swinging drumming shaped his playing. Bolduc became the first Canadian musician appointed to an artistic residency at Boston Wally's Cafe Jazz Club, and in New York he has directed and anchored the rhythm section for saxophonist Stacy Dillard's residency at Smalls. He also works as a sideman with pianist Victor Gould and vocalist Vanisha Gould.
