Roni Eytan

Roni Eytan is an Israeli born jazz harmonica player based in New York who has expanded the instrument's vocabulary far beyond its usual associations. Born in Jerusalem, he studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and at Berklee, and in 2018 became the first harmonica player ever selected for the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz. His sound draws on the jazz tradition and on the Andalusian and Middle Eastern music he absorbed in his hometown. He has performed with John Patitucci, Eddie Gomez, Brian Blade, and Shai Maestro, and leads his own groups around New York.
