Reed Miller

Reed Miller is a jazz guitarist, composer, and educator based in Brooklyn, New York, whose playing draws on swing, bebop, and the southern soul of his native South Carolina. He co-leads the guitar trio Straight Up! with drummer Andrew Kushnir, a group formed in 2020 that reworks standards and jazz classics in the tradition of Barney Kessel and Shelly Manne's Poll Winners; the trio released its self-titled debut in 2025. Miller relocated to New York in 2017 to study with guitarists Vic Juris and Pasquale Grasso, and he holds a Master of Music in jazz performance from Purchase College. He is a familiar presence on the New York scene, including the afternoon jam sessions at Smalls Jazz Club.
