Pablo Menares

Pablo Menares is a Chilean bassist based in Brooklyn, widely regarded as one of the most in-demand Chilean jazz bassists working in New York. Born in Santiago, he relocated to New York in 2009 and has since moved fluidly between jazz and Latin music, valued for a graceful, grounded sense of time. His longest-running partnership is with drummer Felix Lecaros and guitarist Nicolas Vera, a trio documented on the album Nomada. He anchors the rhythm section on saxophonist Melissa Aldana's Blue Note recordings 12 Stars (2022) and Echoes of the Inner Prophet (2024), and has performed with Arturo O'Farrill, Randy Brecker, Greg Osby, Claudia Acuna, and Francisco Mela.
