Nick Jozwiak

Nick Jozwiak is a New York bassist and cellist active across the city's jazz and creative-music scenes. Raised in the Chicago area in a family of musicians, he studied classical piano before taking up the double bass, and moved to New York in 2007 to attend the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. He plays cello in violinist Sarah Bernstein's Veer Quartet and works as a bassist with a broad range of New York bandleaders. Under his own name he released the album Better Start Next Time Again, on which he plays both double bass and cello. His playing moves comfortably between straight-ahead jazz and more experimental settings.
