Ned Goold

Ned Goold is a tenor saxophonist known as a distinctive inside-outside player in the New York jazz tradition. He has been a mainstay of Harry Connick Jr.'s band since 1990, touring and recording widely with the singer. A fixture of the downtown scene, he recorded the albums The Flows and March of the Malcontents for the Smalls label and appeared on the Jazz Underground: Live at Smalls compilation. His sound draws on the lineage of players such as Sonny Rollins and Ben Webster while pursuing his own harmonic approach to improvisation.
