Luis Perdomo

Luis Perdomo is a Grammy-winning pianist and composer regarded as one of the most in-demand voices on the New York jazz scene. Born in 1971 in Caracas, Venezuela, he moved to New York in 1993 and studied with Harold Danko at the Manhattan School of Music and with Sir Roland Hanna at Queens College. He built his reputation as a first-call sideman, appearing on scores of recordings with artists including Ravi Coltrane, Miguel Zenon, Ray Barretto, and David Sanchez, while also leading his own dates. His long partnership with saxophonist Miguel Zenon produced the duo album El Arte del Bolero, whose second volume won the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album. Perdomo also teaches at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and at Berklee College of Music.
