Jeff Williams

Jeff Williams is an American jazz drummer and composer whose career spans more than fifty years. Born in 1950 and largely self taught, he moved to New York in 1971 and was soon a founding member of the quartet Lookout Farm with Dave Liebman, Richie Beirach, and Frank Tusa. He went on to play with Stan Getz, Joe Lovano, and Lee Konitz, building a reputation as a subtle, dynamic player. In recent decades he has led his own bands, recording for Whirlwind Recordings, and after years in London he relocated to Portugal while continuing to work the New York scene.
