Jason Yeager

Jason Yeager is a New York-based jazz pianist and composer whose music moves between the jazz tradition, 20th-century classical writing, and the folk rhythms of Argentina and Chile, with influences ranging from Thelonious Monk to the writing of Kurt Vonnegut. He studied in the Tufts University and New England Conservatory dual-degree program and earned a master's degree from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where his teachers included Fred Hersch, Danilo Perez, and Ran Blake. As a bandleader he has released eight albums of original music, among them Sanctuary (Sunnyside, 2024), a collaboration with violinist Jason Anick, and he has appeared on more than 40 recordings as a sideman alongside artists such as Luciana Souza, George Garzone, and Noah Preminger. He has performed on five continents at venues including Carnegie Hall, Birdland, the Blue Note, and Smalls, and at the Panama Jazz Festival. Yeager is also Associate Professor of Piano at Berklee College of Music and a Lecturer of Music at MIT.
