Hyuna Park

Hyuna Park is a Korean-born pianist based in New York whose playing folds classical training and Korean folk melody into a straight-ahead jazz vocabulary. She won the International Women in Jazz festival and received the Jimmy Heath Award in 2018, the same year she formed a trio with bassist Myles Sloniker and drummer Peter Traunmueller. That group released her debut album, Her Morning Waltz, in 2019, a set of originals alongside rearranged standards. She has performed with Grammy winners including Linda Oh, Luis Bonilla, Michael Mossman and Vincent Herring, and at the Kennedy Center, the Dizzy Gillespie Auditorium and the United Nations. Her trio is a regular presence at New York rooms including Birdland, Joe's Pub, Zinc Bar, Iridium and The Django.
