Eric Wyatt

Eric Wyatt is a tenor saxophonist born and raised in Brooklyn, where he grew up at the center of the city's jazz tradition. His father, the saxophonist Charles Wyatt, surrounded him with the music early, and Sonny Rollins, a family friend and his godfather, helped shape his path and assisted with his debut recording, God Son, in 1997. Wyatt plays in the muscular, melodic tenor lineage of the Brooklyn sound, leading his own quartet and recording as a leader for labels including Posi-Tone. He has toured internationally and remained a steady presence on the New York scene as both a leader and a sideman.
