Daniele Germani

Daniele Germani is an Italian-born saxophonist and composer based in Brooklyn, working as both a bandleader and a sideman on the New York jazz scene. Born in 1992 in Arce, in Italy's Frosinone region, he finished the conservatory program at Frosinone before a 2013 scholarship took him to Berklee College of Music, where he was accepted into the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and studied with Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano and Terri Lyne Carrington. Four years of weekly sets at Wally's Jazz Cafe in Boston, leading his own quartet and playing in the Cosimo Boni Quintet, sharpened the working-band sensibility he brought to New York after graduating in 2017. He released A Congregation of Folks and Xenya on GleAM Records in 2021, and founded the Brooklyn label Lyonhill Records in 2023. A daily composing habit he began in 2019 has produced hundreds of original tunes, and he has played the Panama, Umbria and Buenos Aires jazz festivals alongside musicians including Dave Douglas and Leo Genovese.
