Charlie Lincoln

Charlie Lincoln is a jazz bassist and composer born and raised in Minneapolis, where he came up playing with leading figures in the Twin Cities jazz scene while still in high school. He studied at Berklee College of Music and served as one of the youngest curators at the Minneapolis venue Jazz Central before relocating to New York. His playing reaches across straight-ahead and adventurous jazz as well as work with songwriters, rock bands, film scores, and off-Broadway theatre, and his collaborators include Kris Davis, Dave King, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jerry Bergonzi, and Eric Kamau Gravatt. In New York he became part of the downtown and Brooklyn scenes, holding the bass chair in vocalist Vanisha Gould's quartet with pianist Chris McCarthy and drummer Samuel Bolduc. He has toured internationally in China, Thailand, and Taiwan.
