Brian Marsella

Brian Marsella is a pianist, composer, and bandleader who moved from his native Philadelphia to New York in 1998 and has since become one of the busiest pianists on the city's creative scene. He is a central figure in John Zorn's world, playing in the Bagatelles and Masada projects and in Zorn's Cobra, and has recorded prolifically for the Tzadik label. His many projects include the trio heard on Calculus with bassist Trevor Dunn and drummer Kenny Wollesen, the large ensemble iMAGiNARiUM, and the surf rock trio The Modulators. A graduate of The New School, Marsella now teaches on the faculty of its College of Performing Arts.
