Ben Silashi

Ben Silashi is an Israeli-born drummer and composer based in New York City, where he has worked since 2014. He is the drummer in KADAWA, a collective trio with guitarist Tal Yahalom and bassist Almog Sharvit, three Israeli musicians who met studying jazz in Tel Aviv and whose all-original music mixes jazz with rock. KADAWA released its self-titled debut in 2017, featuring guest appearances by trumpeter Adam O'Farrill, and followed it in 2023 with the EP Downward Jewel, made with singer and producer Grey Mcmurray. Silashi studied at the Center for Jazz Studies in Tel Aviv and graduated with honors from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where he worked with Andrew Cyrille, Reggie Workman, and Ari Hoenig. On the New York scene he has played in saxophonist Omer Leshem's quintet and alongside guitarist Nadav Remez.
