Aaron Goldberg

One of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation, Aaron Goldberg (born 1974 in Boston) built his reputation through a long association with saxophonist Joshua Redman, joining the Joshua Redman Quartet in 1998 and touring worldwide. While a student at Harvard, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1996, he became a founding member of Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead program. His debut as a leader, Turning Point, appeared on the J Curve label in 1999, and he has since led his own trio while collaborating with Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Guillermo Klein. A philosopher as well as a musician, he earned an M.A. in philosophy from Tufts University in 2010 under Daniel Dennett.
